Background Information: | Doxorubicin HCl is an anthracycline antibiotic chemotherapy drug that inhibits topoisomerase II by induction of double-stranded DNA breaks. Inhibits nucleic acid synthesis by intercalating with DNA, and induces apoptosis via p53 tumor suppressor protein accumulation. Commonly used to treat leukemias and Hodgkin's lymphoma, as well as various other cancers. Provided as 10 mg of dry powder. |
