Background Information: | Erythropoietin (EPO) is a glycoprotein renal hormone responsible for promoting erythropoiesis (formation of red blood cells) by bone marrow. Oxygen scarcity or bleeding stimulate release of EPO. It can be used to test for and treat certain blood conditions like anemia, and has been misused by athletes as a performance-enhancer. Acts as an agonist for EpoR. Provided as 10 μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer. |
