Background Information: | Glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP II) is a 33 amino acid GI peptide produced upon nutrient consumption via post-translational cleavage of proglucagon in intestinal endocrine cells. It has potent intestinotrophic endocrine/paracrine actions, including intestinal mucosal growth, enhanced brush-border enzyme activity, and delayed gastric transit. May be a potential therapeutic target for subjects with intestinal disease. Acts as an agonist for GLP2R. Provided as 500μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer. |
