Background Information: | CCL2 is a protein involved in chemoattraction which attracts monocytes, activated T cells, basophils, NK cells, and immature dendritic cells to the site of inflammation. CCL2 acts as an agonist on CCR receptors including CCR2, CCR3, and CCR5. Additionally, it is believed to reduce IL-12 production by dendritic cells and promote a Th2 phenotype in CD4+ T cells. Implicated in the pathology of multiple sclerosis, atherosclerosis, and allergic asthma. Provided as 5 μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer. |
