Background Information: | Isoproterenol, also known as isoprenaline, is a synthetic small molecule non-selective beta-adrenergic agonist that acts as a sympathomimetic and is structurally similar to adrenaline. Isoproterenol-based activation of beta 2 andrenoceptors activates PKA and ERK downstream. Isoproterenol is used as a medication for the treatment of bradycardia, heart block , and asthma by relaxing the blood vessels and airway. Provided as 10 mg of dry powder. |
