Background Information: | Prostaglandin D2 is a naturally occurring eicosanoid product of mast cells that potently activates the prostaglandin D2 and CRTH2 receptors (Ki=21 and 2.4nM, respectively). PGD2 is released during allergic and asthmatic anaphylaxis, causing vasodilation, flushing, hypotension, inflammation, syncopal episodes, and immune cell recruitment. Provided as 1 mg of dry powder. |
