Background Information: | CXCL13 is a small cytokine protein that is selectively chemotactic for B cells belonging to both the B-1 and B-2 subsets, and carries out its effects by interacting with its chemokine receptor, CXCR5. It takes part in the formation of ectopic lymphoid tissue in chronic inflammation and is expressed highly in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, and the gut of humans.
