Background Information: | Glial-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is a disulfide-linked, homodimeric neurotrophic factor protein that promotes the survival and differentiation of dopaminergic neurons in culture and is able to prevent apoptosis of motor neurons induced by axotomy. GDNF specifically promotes dopamine uptake and survival, and morphological differentiation of midbrain neurons. It is an agonist for GFRα1. Provided as 2μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer. |
