Background
Programmed cell death 1 ligand 2 (also known as PD-L2, B7-DC) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PDCD1LG2 gene.PDCD1LG2 has also been designated as CD273 and has been speculated to play a major role in suppressing the immune system, with possible roles in cancer-induced immune suppression. This receptor is known to bind to and activate the PD-1 receptor.
